It's Malt that gives beer its flavour, colour, body, head retention and alcohol content.
Software is available to help determine attributes of the beer that you are trying to emulate, or indeed to formulate yourselves.
There is a scale for determining the colour of malt and beer, which is used throughout Europe. The colour is measured in EBC units, where the lowest rating is the palest colour. The Malts we have on offer range from the very palest Malt at 2.5 EBC through to the very darkest at 1160 EBC. Its worth remembering that only the palest malts contain the enzymes necessary for starch conversion. For this reason, the malts that make up the bulk of the grain bill are sold at a permanantly reduced rate.
Our grains are supplied ready crushed, available in quantities ranging from 500g to 25Kg.
The prices of the malts are having to be increased due to a hike in delivery prices. We will endeaver to keep our prices as low and competitive as we always have, and we apologise for the increase. |
